By accessing and using SlaveryMap (slaverymap.com), you agree to the following terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
About SlaveryMap
SlaveryMap is a project of Not For Sale, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending human trafficking and modern slavery. The platform documents verified cases of trafficking and exploitation worldwide using publicly available information.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use SlaveryMap for lawful purposes only. You may not:
- Submit false, misleading, or fabricated case information
- Attempt to identify, contact, or endanger trafficking victims through information on this site
- Use the platform to harass, threaten, or harm any individual
- Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or redistribute data without authorization
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform's systems or data
SlaveryMap Investigator Accounts
By registering as a SlaveryMap Investigator, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information during registration
- Submit only cases based on credible, verifiable sources
- Include at least one primary source URL with every case submission
- Respect the privacy and dignity of trafficking victims in all submissions
Not For Sale reserves the right to suspend or remove any Investigator account that violates these terms or submits false or harmful information.
Case Data
Cases displayed on SlaveryMap are derived from publicly available sources including news reports, court records, and NGO investigations. While we strive for accuracy, Not For Sale does not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of all case data. Cases marked as "verified" have been reviewed by Not For Sale staff. Cases marked as "community" or "under review" have not yet been fully verified.
Data Access
SlaveryMap data is available for research, education, and advocacy purposes through our data access request process. All published work using SlaveryMap data must credit "SlaveryMap by Not For Sale." Commercial use of the data requires separate written authorization from Not For Sale.
Intellectual Property
The SlaveryMap platform, design, and codebase are the property of Not For Sale. Case summaries are derived from and attributed to their original published sources. The SlaveryMap name, logo, and branding are trademarks of Not For Sale.
Disclaimer of Warranties
SlaveryMap is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Not For Sale does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Not For Sale shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of SlaveryMap, including but not limited to damages for loss of data, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Not For Sale, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of SlaveryMap or violation of these Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Nevada, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of SlaveryMap after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
